Voluntary Blood donation camp held in A&N Police Fire Service.
Port Blair, Nov21: To adduces the treatment related problems arising due to accidents, the relatives of the patients run from pillar to post to arrange blood as there is very scarcity of stock with the blood bank of G.B.Pant Hospital, Port Blair. Owing to the difficulties in arranging blood for needy people and to replenish the stock of blood bank, the A&N Police Fire Service has arranged for a “Voluntary Blood donation camp” at Police Fire Service (HQs) on 19/11/2016. The A&N Police Fire Service with the help of Dr. Ganesh Samadar, Dy. Director, Blood Bank and officials of A&N Aids Control Society has successfully conducted the blood donation camp.
For setting good example and motivating the officers and staff of Police Fire Service, Shri. B. Saigal, Dy. Superintendent of Police (Fire Service) come forward and donated blood first. Around 25 Fire Service officers and personnel from Fire Stations at Aberdeen, Marine, Chatham, Haddo Wharf, Garacharma also participated in the voluntary blood donation camp with the aim to serve the general public.
