Port Blair, Mar 05: IRBn has taken up initiatives for the Swachh Bharat Abhiyan in right earnest and is now looking forward to its role as ecological task force. Since the launch of Swach Bharat campaign, IRBn has undertaken various cleaning campaigns throughout Port Blair and particularly since last one month cleaning programmes have been organized at Collinpur Beach on 07.02.2015 & 21.02.2015 and at Port Mout village on 14.02.2015.

Similarly on 03.03.2015 a trekking expedition was organized by a team of 31 IRBn personnel led by Inspector (IRBn) G. Radhkrishnan in coordination with Forest dept. at Diglipur from Lamia Bay to Saddle Peak by crossing the dense forest. During the trekking the IRBn personnel marched up with banners campaigning for cleanliness, cleaned along the pathway to reach the top of the saddle peak by covering 08 kms from the ground level.

The personnel participated in the trek showed overwhelming enthusiasm ensured that their messages of ensuring cleanliness in ecological areas was disseminated in the right earnest.
