Port Blair, Oct. 5: International Day for elderly people was observed by the police personnel at Havelock on 1st October, 2015. On the occasion, the elderly were invited for a function during which their contribution rendered to the society were remembered. The elderly people also shared their experience, contribution, issues being faced by them. Later they were briefed about their rights and the aspects of the safety & security being extended by the police.

The delighted participants expressed their happiness for organizing such a programme by the A&N Police and they expressed that such initiation by the A&N Police would definitely help the elderly people of these Islands to live under safe and secure environment.

Similar programme was also organized at Little Andaman and Neil Island by the concerned Station House Officers.
