Port Blair, Dec. 3: The India Reserve Battalion, Andaman & Nicobar Islands has celebrated its 13th Raising Day at Head Quarter, Port Mout on 3rd December-2015. A ceremonial parade was held at Parade Ground, IRBn, in which Shri.Rajesh Mallik, IPS Director General of Police graced the raising day function as the Chief Guest. The DGP, A&N Islands inspected the parade and took salute from the parade contingents on the occasion.
Addressing the gathering , consisting of IRBn staff, their family member and NDRF personnel, the Chief Guest lauded the services of the IRBn personnel towards ensuring the security of the union territory, to instill sense of security among the inhabitants of these isolated areas, to prevent trans border crimes, smuggling and unauthorized entry or exit from these territory, to provide security to the sensitive installations, LOPs, guards and designated important dignitaries, with professionalism and to restore and preserve order efficiently in any area in the event of disturbance by upholding supremacy of the Constitution. In discharging these functions, each member of the force shall aim to uphold the highest standards of human dignity and national integrity and assist in disaster management. On this occasion the IRBn personnel presented the weapon handling demonstration by blind fall.
He said that all members of the this unit should achieve greater heights and bring laurels and increase public confidence for this battalion by providing better service delivery to the society and gaining more confidence of the public.
