Port Blair, Sept. 8: During the month of July 2015, a senior citizen committee meeting was held at Police Station Kadamtala which was presided by Shri Ajay Kumar Rai, Dy.SP Rangat. During the meeting, the senior citizens of Kadamtala raised some issues/problems faced by them during their visit for health check up and treatment to PHC Kadamtala. The senior citizens faced problems due to congestion in the medicine counter and there is no separate counter for senior citizens. They demanded an expansion of the counter or to make some provisions for separate queue for consulting the doctor and also for collecting medicines from counter for them. For redressal of problem, Shri Ajay Kumar Rai, Dy.SP Rangat along with SI B. Someswar Rao, SHO PS Kadamtala met Dr. Saheba Mumtaz, Medical Officer In-charge of PHC Kadamtala and highlighted the issues pertaining to senior citizens and she immediately made provision for separate queue for senior citizens in medicine counter. The same has been appreciated by the senior citizens of Kadamtala.

The A&N Police is looking forward for effective community policing and we take up the matter at appropriate level for redressal of the grievances of general public. Being part of community policing, police personnel of PS Kadamtala have been deployed at PHC Kadamtala during working hours for providing assistance for consulting doctor and also for collecting medicine etc. to the senior citizens and other weaker sections of the community.
