Port Blair, July 9: On 7th July 2015, acting upon a tip of information regarding Gambling, a police team of SB(CID) consisting of ASI Rakesh Singh, HC’s Thimmiraj, Sudan Dey, and PC’s Vinod Kr. Pillai,  Soman Biswas, Muthu Swamy, Milton Baul, Arun Xaxa  and Suraj Kumar conducted a raid at Sippighat and apprehended 08 persons namely (1) Vinod Prasad Sahu, (2) M.C.Nageswaran, (3) Mahesh Ram (4) Vikas (5) M.K.Baroi (6) John Peter (7) Dharam Lall (8) Shaun Minj all persons resident of Sippighat and recovered an amount of Rs. 16,860/- (rupees sixteen thousand eight hundred sixty only) on the spot. All the aforesaid persons were arrested from the spot and a challan under the appropriate sections of A & N Gambling Regulation 1951 has been chalked out against them at PS CCS.
