Port Blair, Sept. 8: In continuation of awareness campaign by A & N Police, Inspr. Abita Bachan, In-Charge, Crime Against Women Cell, Port Blair along with Smti Meenam Bal, Vidhya Yuva Kendra Foundation, NGO, Port Blair conducted an interaction programme with teachers and secondary & senior secondary class students on Domestic violence, Molestation/eve-teasing, attempt to commit suicide related offences and cyber offences at G.S.S Model school, Port Blair on 04/09/15. Further, Do’s and Don’ts with respect to such offences were explained to girl child students. During the interaction, teachers were advised to display contents of various Advisories on the School notice board and to keep in regular touch with students to prevent any offence. All were advised to be more careful and report obscene telephone calls or obscene messages through social networking sites/applications. During the interaction, students were encouraged to come forward and provide information about any kind of offences noticed among the school students etc. Further, all the students were sensitized on gender issues and were assured in police department’s endeavour in ensuring safety & security.

They were also requested to pass/report on any information about offences related to girl child on the following telephone numbers- 100, 232586, 9434288536, 9434289985 & 9531856293.
