Port Blair, Jan 29: The felicitation ceremony of essay writing, painting and logo painting competitions organized by the Dept. of A&N Police, was held at the A&N Police HQ, Atlanta Point here this morning. Smti Roma Malik, wife of DGP, A&N Police, Shri Rajesh Malik was the chief guest of the occasion.
Addressing the gathering, the DGP said as responsible citizens, we must all participate actively in building a progressive country. He emphasized that the duties of the citizens must be carried out efficiently and the right to exercise our franchise must not be neglected. He stressed that awareness about various flagship programmes launched by the Govt. of India must be created among the masses and congratulated the winners of the competition by appreciating their creativity.
The DGP further said that the objective of organizing such competition was to create awareness about traffic congestion and civic sense among the Islanders. He also assured that the A&N Police will continue to deliver its best for the betterment of the Islands and opined that the gap between the Police and public can only be bridged by working in unison.
The winners of essay writing, painting and logo painting competition were felicitated with cash prizes and certificates by the chief guest. The participants, Ms. Sheba Ashu and Ms. S. Narayni who secured the second and third position respectively in essay writing (English), shared the contents of their essays on the occasion.
The judges of the competition Ms. Jojibeth, Shri Denis Giles, Shri Zubair Ahmed and Shri Arun Srivastav also spoke on the occasion. The programme was attended by senior officers of the Police Deptt., parents and students.
